Current setup: ADSL 384/128 Line, US Robotics 9106 ADSL Modem, Router and Wireless Access Point
XBOX 360 and XBOX connected to the access point using standar ethernet cables.
Ever since i got the console, i was unable to play on live (i got kicked out of games as soon as i joined, or i couldnt manage to join at all. Connection to the host was lost every time). I initially attributed this to the crapyness of my connection (being on 384kbps is bad. Being on 384kbps on an overloaded DSLAM SUCKS).
But ever since i started running xbox live tests, i noticed that my NAT was set to moderate and this always bugged me...never the less no matter what ports i forwarded, or how i configured my DMZ hosts etc, i still got dropped of games...
So i was scouting the net tonight and came across another post here on the scene, where another fellow member had a "moderate nat" problem...his solution: set the ip address of the xbox to dynamic.
I did so, and lo-and-behold, problem solved. I managed to get into live and watch a DOA game, as well as play a small perfect dark zero game (i still got booted on my second one though...).
Now im looking for a way to get my router to assign my xbox the same ip address every time so that i dont have to change the port forwarding targets...
Any ideas?
